User Group can't be removed

Hi,

Yesterday I created a user group under Security --> Access Controls, only today it’s vanished from the user group list. I can still access it from the drop-down list (toassign users to user groups), but when I try to create it I get the message "User group already exists". I can’t delete it since it doesn’t show up in the user group panel.

Any suggestions on what might be causing this, or how I can remove the user group?

Update: I noticed that assigning a user group as its own parent removes it from the user group menu, making it impossible to view or edit it.

I tried to report it using the Bugs & Requests link at the top of this page, but my current internet connection is weak and/or Jira seems to be down.

In the Update User Group Panel, the user group itself appears in the drop-down list for "parent." Setting the user group as its own parent causes it not to be displayed in the user group list so it’s impossible to delete or correct it.

It shouldn’t appear in the list and maybe there should be a test in usergroup->save() to prevent saving a group with the parent set to its own ID to make sure it could never happen.

I tried to, but it looks like I need a JIRA account. I applied for one.
