My only real complaint with ModX is the sorting of pages with the Menu Index. This is a constant frustration when training and handing the "keys" over to clients after building a site; and it’s about the only counter-intuitive part of ModX.
I have started having to explain to clients that they should set their menu indexes in increments of 5 or 10 (which is counter-intuitive to just numbering them sequentially... which means more training time), that way if they want/need to reorder the pages later they have a buffer between pages. For example: Let’s say I create 20 pages within a certain folder, and I number the menu indexes of each sequentially. If I then want to reorder page 20 up to page 10, I have to edit 10 separate pages individually. This is annoying and time consuming at best. Creating buffers in the menu index numbering saves you from having to edit multiple files, but it creates another problem - you frequently have to "edit" the page you are wanting to move ahead of (to find out what its menu index is), and then edit the page you want to move.
Intuitively, the menu index is there to order pages in relation to one another - this setting seems like it belongs in the side nav where the relationship between pages can easily be seen. Perhaps little up and down arrows next to each file that let you sort? Perhaps a manager plugin built just for speedy sorting of your document tree?
Does this bother anyone else? Am I totally missing some easy way to do this?

In Revo, you just drag and drop the menu items directly in the tree.
