Is the snippet tag in a chunk or inside another tag?
If not, I’m out of ideas.

I think what Bob would be getting at with it being in a chunk or different tag is related to a bug in 2.1.2... if you’re on .2 an upgrade could fix that...
Thanks for the ideas everyone but I am on .3 and out of ideas as well. At least the placeholders work now.

That’s part of it, but I was also thinking it might have to do with caching and/or the parsing order.
