I’m just curious to know whether anyone has implemented a MODx site that outputs Dublin Core metadata, and if so, what were the steps taken to do so.

I think I’d like to package up a bunch of Dublin Core TVs and related chunks and templates that I could return to in creating museum/archives collection related sites--sort of the approach that’s being used with Omeka (http://www.omeka.org)--but using MODx.

I probably should have attempted this a long time ago. Any suggestions (or pointers to MODx-based Dublin Core sites) would be appreciated.

Can you share some of the tags? I believe metax addresses some of them if they can be added easy enough.

That should be very straightforward to do. It’s possible to use some of the built-in metadata as default sources for some of the data (e.g., pagetitle for Title), but I tend to think dedicated TVs would make more sense. You could then just use [[*pagetitle]] as the default value for the Title TV and have an easy way to override as needed. These TVs on a dedicated "Dublin Core" tab in the manager would be nice indeed.

Depending on the size of the site, it might be more interesting to put all the Dublin core data into a dedicated table. In a future Revo release all document metadata, content and TVs will just be Elements so this will become even more interesting.

I was actually hoping for straight HTML lines, but that works too.

I’ll second Ryan, you can accomplish most of this with MODx native fields such as page title and creator. I love the idea of integrating it with the Revo core, it should be a nice add on for SEO and such...

Dublin Core looks pretty cool. I will be adding it to MetaX http://modxcms.com/extras/package/?package=708 within the next few days. Looks like version 1.3 is on the way soon.
