2.0.8 - 2.1.1 Upgrade Errors

Attempting to upgrade a 2.0.8 Revo install to 2.1.1 and getting stuck during the setup process. I’m getting a 500 error during the DB test. My error log has these two entries


I noticed there was another thread about the 2.1 build with the same errors but this is just a straight upload overwrite. I’ve re-downloaded the zip file several times to no avail.

Server: Ubuntu Server with Zend Server CE 5.1.0
PHP: 5.3.5
MySQL: 5.1.37

I am receiving the same error trying to upgrade from 2.0.8-pl to 2.1.1-pl.

MODx Revolution 2.0.8-pl (traditional)
Running on ISS 6.0
PHP 5.2.11

There’s a couple of extra config variables ($database_dsn, $config_options) in 2.1 which I think is the cause of your error.

Try placing the above variables (replace YOURHOSTNAME and YOURDBNAME with appropriate values) right under your database config in core/config.inc.php and see if that helps.

I tried adding those extra variables, however, all pages come up with a 404 Page Not Found error.

Okay, it appears the FURLS were causing some issues with accessing the setup page.

Now successfully updated to 2.1.1.

Do you have FURLS turned on? Try turning them off.
