I changed the admin password and now neither the old or new password works (I’m pasting the new one so I know it’s correct).
I wonder if the change password code is still using MD5?
Of course the old trick for editing the password in PhpMyAdmin with the MD5 code doesn’t work -- so I’m completely locked out.
I was also unable to change the admin password in FF. I got a "User not specified" error. I was able to change it in IE7 (unfortunately).

I have not tried it, but IMHO the old trick with PhpMyAdmin migth work, if you change the "hash_class" value to "hashing.modmd5" in the modx_users table.

Thanks. I was able to get in by pasting from another 2.1 site I have, but I think your method would also work.
