the page layout changes using tiny MCE

the page layout changes if i even change the spelling of any content if i try using Tiny MCE. why?

TinyMCE has a "feature" for cleaning up certain HTML that its developers feel is not correct, such as removing empty tags like <div></div>. It will also add tags if there is any content without surrounding block-level elements, resulting in <p> tags surrounding MODx chunk or snippet tags. These can be disabled in the plugin’s configuration, using the custom parameters field. It takes some study of the TinyMCE documentation to figure out just how, though. There is no way to prevent it from converting & to &amp; and the developers have firmly declared their intention to leave it that way, as they cannot conceive of any circumstance where a plain & is desirable.
