    Edit the manager user. Open his User tab. Scroll down to the "Editor to use" select drop-down. Select "none". Save.

    I use this approach for manager users, but that option doesn’t seem to be there for web users, in cases where you want web users entering content but you don’t want them to have access to the RTE.

    Another option I can think of is to create a template variable that’s a text area (say [*content_plain*] and not have it have a RTE widget. Then for the group of users who you want to restrict from using the RTE, hide the main content area using ManagerManager and display the [*content_plain*] TV instead.

    There’s probably a simpler way to do it but this is what I can think of atm

      Edit the mm_rules chunk you are using (mm_demo_rules is installed by default). Add this line:
      Code:

      mm_hideFields(’which_editor’, ’2’);

      The number should be the ID of the role of the users you don’t want to have the editor (you can find out which ID the role is in the Templates, TVs and Roles tab of the ManagerManager plugin).

      THANK YOU! That worked nice for me, and this is another time I believe MODx is the best CMS.

      Thank you again for the advice and for your work!

        You could do something with the MemberCheck snippet having the RTE stuff in one chunk and the plain textarea in the other..
