Saving resource clears the entire cache

When I save a resource and "Empty Cache" is ticked all cache files get deleted from the cache folder, as if I’d run Site->Clear Cache.

I tried this on 2.1.1 and 2.08.

Is this how it’s meant to work? I thought only the cache file for the resource you’re saving would be deleted.

That’s how it’s suppose to work. The point is that you may have saved something like the resource’s menu title or alias, which would break the menus on all of the other pages, so the cache files of all the resources are cleared to force a refresh of the menus (or news/blog listings or any other content that was taken from other resources).
