I’ve been happily using Package Management for the best part of a year on my main host. I’ve got three main sites on there (on separate accounts) - two on 2.0.8 and one fresh today 2.1.1

For no reason I can logically fathom, I am getting this error in Package Management:

[2011-06-04 19:31:47] (ERROR @ /connectors/workspace/packages-rest.php) MODx could not download the file. You must enable allow_url_fopen, cURL or fsockopen to use remote transport packaging.

Everything was working fine on the 2.0.8 sites - I haven’t logged into them for over a month, so I can’t say when things broke. The host has upgraded PHP today to try and fix it to 5.2.17 (MySQL is running on 5.0.92 community. It’s a Linux box.

cURL is enabled (and working), allow_url_fopen is ON.

Another account I have with the same host, but on a different server, running 2.0.8 is working normally.

    Any ideas?

Not entirely sure I believe what the host is telling me, but in case it’s an issue for anyone else.... eventually solved by disabling ’auto_url_fopen’, enabling cURL and not having a value set for ’open_basedir’.
