Showcase: Made in MODx Reborn

Hey all,

Looking for feedback on the new version of the Made in MODx part of the website which runs on Shaun (splittingred)’s Showcase 3rd Party Component.

We have automated the process and also made it more Developer/Designer focused so that Devs who submit more than one site will benefit from a mini portfolio of sites within the MODx site.

In addition we no longer have to manually handle the process which means tonnes more submissions.

Please don’t share the URL but feel free to make submissions as part of our testing.

One note: I will be making some cosmetic changes to the output of the pages.

Please add your feedback and suggestions to this thread.

Ok, I just submitted my own site as test!

I hope this new showcase will give it a boost so that more people submit their sites to it

Ronald and BobRay how was the submission form? We really want to make sure the submission process works, is understandable and most importantly there were no bugs. There were a number of submissions that never made it into the old MiM because there was no automation and also we had to manually enter each submission. We now have a moderation system in place that lets us know when a new submission has been received so now all we have to do is review and approve submissions. (my enter key is not working for some reason hence the long paragraph).

It works great, but the "Launch Date" should be optional. I have about 20 sites I could submit but of which I don’t remember when I launched them

I got an email that the Words Matter site made it through the process but, so far, not for Bob’s Guides (which I submitted first).

BTW, I didn’t know how to classify Bob’s Guides. Maybe there should be a MODx category of some kind. I thought I’d classified it as education (though it doesn’t seem accurate) but I see it’s under art.

I have approved every site that has gone through. I am not sure why you didn’t get an email for Bob’s Guides; good to know. We will look at it to see if there is something that is causing it not to send. I’ve posted fixes for these issues. Thanks BobRay.

There is no notification of approval at the moment. Let us know if this is something you’d like to see. We will discuss the launch date issue this week.

If I click on any of the showcase links, I just see an error:

It would be useful to know if we can use HTML in the two textareas (description + short description) or just plain text.
