How are things at MODx HQ?

I was wondering how things are going and if MODx HQ has anything ’on the burner’?

Is Revolution (beta) going to be the next milestone?
Is the memory issue the only thing keeping Revo from going beta?
Is there work going on with the release of Evolution?
Will Evo be released together with Revo?
Is there a dedicated core team for Evo and one for Revo?
Is there still much work going into the new site (as in development not content)?

How are things going as compared to the plan/roadmap?

Or are things on hold while working on other, non MODx obligations?

In the forum stats it is funny that the number of posts and visits has remained the same but the page views have dropped significantly. Is this a stats issue or has there been an actual drop?

Not currently within the Collabpad team; however, there is from other community members.

That is undecided; probably not.

Not at the moment.

Yes. We’re working on improving and fixing the Extras repository, and eventually automating the Made in MODx section.

How are things going as compared to the plan/roadmap?

About as to be expected from a non-profit organization totally reliant on donations, contributed from the community, with only 2-4 active developers currently working on Revolution at this moment.

The Collabpad team is currently deploying Revo to a major institution. We cannot share details at this moment; but lets just say we’ve been working 10-11 hour days these past 3 weeks.

Have there been any major issue discovered in Revo as of the new site release? Is it holding up as expected? Is the site using the SVN version or is it a ’special’ version?

Do you think that with the extended work being done with Revo while in alpha that there will be a short period between beta and RC or is it to early to say?

Idea: would be nice to have a periodic "the state of MODx" report to fill us in on what is going on with the project..I know no one has time for this but it would be nice

Thanks for the update and thanks for lauching this thread Shane, as I am less active I was wondering if the subjective feeling that activity (here in project team boards and globally on modx forums) had dropped a bit was accurate or not...

It’s great to know that Revo is deployed on a major project, I guess it will be a great learning experience and also a nice case study if you ever have the authorization to divulge details about the project...

I have lots of questions regarding Revo from french users, this will help feeding them (they’re hungry for more modx power )

Regarding the forum stats, i think its due to Google PR drop.

Seems odd since it is only the pageviews that dropped. Why would the PR drop?

When the new modxcms.com got up and running, the robots.txt was remained in "production mode" with disallow all until a modx user spotted that, I guess it influenced the forums folder as well (though SMF must have a robots.txt too, no ?).

Actually, we have much better firewall filtering on the new server which prevents a ton of malicious bot and script-kiddie activity. Google Analytics show a continuing upwards rise.
