It should be noted that the MODx Manager works just as well with Google Chrome. There are a few minor bugs, but these are probably Chrome’s fault (e.g. can’t resize frames) and will be fixed in one of the next versions.
imho, not supporting IE6 and below is not a showstopper these days. It’s better to concentrate forces for the present and future browser generations than supporting outdated and buggy technologies.
Folks should also realize these requirements are for the manager only. If you like, you can build sites like in 1998. The frontend is entirely up to the developers. The manager area uses tons of Javascript, Ajax, CSS trickery though, and testing this in ancient browsers for a small minority would very likely use up too much valuable time.
Hi Ganesh, yes, yes and yes. You are right with all of your points. But it is not correct that the current MODx version`s backend doesn`t run with IE6. So why confuse people at the system`s website which always is the first address to look if a system fits to my needs? Why not note IE6+ (MODx Evolution branch), IE7+ (MODx Revolution branch).
