How have you distributed "Security Notices" for users?

I want to hear an opinion from everyone.

We have already notified "Security Notices" by the forum in Japanese.
It is :

Please access this. You will see as words "セキュリティ".
"セキュリティ" is security. We translate "Security Notices", and then we notify here.

We set "SET TOPIC STICKY " so that it might be noticeable.
It is always in the top. Therefor, If one opens a sub forum, for example, such a following:
http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/board,116.0.html,
he will see this topic(security notices).

But in fact, I think that there are some persons who do not open the sub forum mostly.
The persons may overlook security information.

So we considered. What should we do to send to all users?
So we are thinking whether to use mailing-list is good.

Everyone, do you think?

Native security notices are a wonderful idea. Anyone have a great idea for straightforward notification for non-English speakers? In the next manager, we have a tab on the welcome page for security notice feeds, so to me RSS-and-Feedburner would seem to be a great option; we just probably need to add a security notice option for the feed source in the manager.

Yes, I know that manager of modx097 has several tab in the welcome page.
In the some revision, I saw "Security Notices" in there.
Then, I thought that it is very wonderful.
So we thought that it is good that it distribute by the native language.

Now, "Security Notices" is distributing by RSS and mailing-list.
I am recommending to read it to Japanese users.
But It seems that Japanese users can not become sensitive to it, because it is written in English.
So we started to distribute by the native language on forum.

But, I want to inform to users more certainly.

But I say as a user, because I do not want to stop my idea.

For example, in the manager of MODx097:
"Security Notices" will be distributed in the welcome page.
Is this source RSS feed?

If it is so, we distribute rss feed of "Security Notices" by each country.
It will be good that some forum thread or board.
If we can be taken in the manager in each country, we could read "Security Notices" in native language.

In the next build of 0962 you also get security notices in your manager as well. In fact, there’s two threads: security notices and announcements. We don’t currently have a UI for specifying the source, so that probably needs to be added to the configuration settings page. Thanks for prompting this discussion MEGU.

I tried 0962 rev3861.
Surely I confirmed "security notice" and "Modx News".
But I can not find the menu which sets these source.

Should I post about this here?

The source is hardcoded into rss.inc.php, so you would have to manually change the URLs in that file. It is located in manager/media/rss. Maybe we should make this configurable in the site settings pages.

That is exactly the intent and what should happen indeed.

Can someone please enter a JIRA ticket for this issue so we make sure it gets applied to 0.9.6.x and 0.9.7.x in a semi-consistent manner.
