Need some input on #MODX-85

I’d like to get some more input on #MODX-85 before I proceed forward. Most obviously, I’m curious if anyone sees the cross-language transliteration as a problem. Also, I need to know if [tt]$_lang[’_transliteration_table’][/tt] is a good name for the future implementation of this task.

One limitation to this is that if a user has the manager language set to English, but then makes document with Spanish (or other foreign language), all of the Spanish-only characters would be removed because the Spanish language transliteration table is not loaded.

I am not sure I understand the process but the issue above would be bad for me (if I understood correctly). I always use the manager in English but build sites in several languages (spanish, portuguese and occasionally some other like german). If the manager could be set independently from the content would be better.

Would foreign characters be removed completely or would they show up as standard western form? For example Ç, would it be removed or show up as C? Or will they show as ’?’ as in caça => ca?a

I’ll follow in Jason’s trail here. I think we should keep the basics in the core as it is and develop a configurable plug-in to take care of handling multiple transliteration tables and sorting which document should use which transliteration table, etc.
