    Hi All

Anyone maybe have way to speed up the Manager on Revo ?

I run on South African bandwidth (384kb) and all this fancy menu’s etc just don’t work over our internet.

    Login: 460kb (27 seconds)
    click home button: 8s
    etc etc

so to make a simply change takes AGES.
Tried all the common browsers, they all bad. running all the commpression and caching i can (which helped alot)

    any input appreciated

I’m not sure it’s fully supported yet, but Google Chrome will give you the fastest Manager.

You can also turn off the two news feeds in System->System Settings to speed up the login.

I think you may be able to turn off checking for updates in Package Manager now also -- not sure.

Chrome been tested and performance is the same, its not rendering part.. its the actual amount of bandwidth used.

is there not way to get old text system back without all the flashy things?

Not at this point. Gmail does it, so it’s probably possible, and you could put in a feature request on the Bugs and Requests link at the top of this page. For now, staying with Evolution is probably the best choice.
