Mark, all tags used on a page in 0.9.7 are cached for that page as appropriate. But, this partial document caching is only applicable to that page. With optional result set caching, the 0.9.7 API will take care of any database caching, which should help at least reduce db stress significantly in these cases, however, I do not see any way to prevent Ditto (or any other component) from having to process TV data for other resources; that’s just the consequence of how this data is constructed dynamically. There will however, be efforts to provide cached output in the form of custom search indexes, soon after 0.9.7, which might be usable for certain techniques where you need to search the output of a specific page or of a TV on a specific page, rather than processing that page.
