Temporarily unavailable

Some of you might have noticed I have been pretty absent from the forums these past few days, just dropping by here and there to keep track of what’s going on. Unfortunately it’s not because of holidays. I had to go back to my parent’s place on january 1st to help taking care of my mother because of a serious pathology which is not yet identified, might be severe disk hernia explaining the right leg paralysis but before she takes a NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance imaging) we won’t know for sure what’s going on. She has been hospitalized yesterday thus I should have news soon what this is about and wether or not there will be surgery.

Anyway, I was just dropping by to explain my (unusual) absence, especially given 0.9.7 alpha testing and 0.9.5.1 release (are there any work needed to upgrade the french translation from 0.9.5 : if so, I’ll ask someone at the french forums to take care of it).

I think things will get back to "normal" next week, hopefully...

I am very excited about 0.9.7 and eager to test Ditto 2.0, for instance, even if as Kyle says "real life" has to take over sometimes... even if I can’t really say this project is not as real as anything in my life : it’s my tool of choice, after all, using it every day makes it quite a reality - as is spending quite a bit of time around here with you guys. But enough babbling, I have my priorities straight and I am quite a family man I confess. Anyway, I keep my eye on the forums, things are moving so fast here (already Ditto 2.0 !!!) that I’ll still browse new thread and drop a line here but nowhere near my usual activity level...

I am back on the forums, after a very hard week, we have some results and even though things are far from fine (it’s a double hernia, with a narrowing of the spinal cord due to artrosis on top of it...) there not as bad as it could have been (bone cancer was suspected at some point). I was taking care of my mother full time last week (she got out of hospital and is getting care at home, since rest is the only option right now. If things don’t change, surgery might be necessary but they want to wait since it’s risky).

Anyway, here I am back in business. Lots of work to catch up with but I’ll be progressively back to full presence and comittment here.
There are a few things that I’d like to do especially get the main modxcms website overhaul done (long overdue...).

I really can understand your pain cause my mother has the same problem with hernia and i’m very preoccupied for a new surgery (after 3 surgery for two breast cancers).

Yeah we (and our close ones) all go through rough times, that’s life. What’s nice is, having friends and people around you for support !
Anyway, it reminds us that good health is a blessing and we should enjoy it when it’s there
