I have a french user who wants to upgrade from Etomite to current MODx... (
here)
Try to find some post about this but the only one I found was fairly old :

How would you go about this kind of upgrade : first update to 0.9.2 and then to 0.9.5 ?

Does it not work going straight from Eto to MODx 095? I think it should.

I was not sure what exactly with all the changes from 0.9.2, and I never had to perform this kind of upgrades...
The thing I’ll do is download latest Etomite, install and then do an upgrade with 0.9.5.
We shall see... of course it’s not as good as taking a live site but it’s a start...

I just did install Etomite 0.6.12 and then update to 0.9.5 and it apparently went OK, just a quick look though and keep in mind the Eto install did not have any content...
I’ll ask objectifweb to try this, advising him to back it all up before trying though...

It would be great to have a document somewhere (wiki?) that says "You can upgrade from Etomite to MODx but you cannot downgrade from MODx to Etomite", and then lists the benefits of MODx compared to Eto.
Of course, really it’s a crossgrade, but still it would be amusing to get this out there.
I sure agree but on the other hand I wouldn’t want to go donw the "bad blood" path, since the guys @Eto seem to still be pretty hot about MODx
Maybe it’s the reason why there is nothing right now in that department ?
