State of the Mark

Just wanted to let everyone know what’s been happening...

I’ve returned for my fall semester at school to 6 full classes instead of the 4 I had last year. Consequentially, I’ve had very little time for anything other than schoolwork. I’ve managed to check in daily on the forums but have seldomly had enough time to respond in detail. I do still plan on finishing Ditto 1.1 when I manage to find a spare weekend. So, that could be next weekend or a month from now--- only my instructors know when. Sometimes the abundance of busywork makes you wonder if they are conspiring to cut out all of your extracurricular activities... I eat, sleep, breath busywork..... ’till 11 at night every weeknight! >:(

So, for the time being I may not respond to posts as quickly as I would like. If anyone sees a post that urgently needs my attention, please PM or email me with a link so I will be notified immediately. Otherwise, try to keep Ditto related posts in the Ditto subforum so that when I get the chance to respond, I can do so as efficiently as possible.

P.S. Maybe if Hijack wins My Dream App, keeping up with the forums will be as easy as keeping track of my email...

As an "uneducated" person who has felt the lack for over 30 years, I can say that your priorities are correct here. Your education will only take a few years, but you’ll have the rest of your life to benefit from it, or suffer from the lack of it. Good luck, although it’ll mostly come from your hard work

Thanks for taking the time to update us on your status, nice to see thing are going well for you with your studies. I can’t agree more about what has been said, though studies are not means to an end and are not always a short term guarantee for success, in the long run education in really paying off at some point or another.

As for Ditto, some of us have some experience with it, I’ll make sure to drop by more often to answer at least the most common question and lighten the load

Just wanted to say again, still here. I’ve managed a few code bits here and there with Ditto but nothing major. I do hope to turn live my TRAC install in the next week though.

On another note, I subscribed to the Ditto subforum via Email but for some reason only 1/10 topics seems to trigger an email. Any ideas?

SMF send 1 mail per day I guess, ... per visit actually... not sure though.

SMF only notifies you of the first unread reply in a topic you subscribed to that was posted.

Ah, now it makes sense. I’ve swapped to using a forum specific RSS now so all should be well.
