A homepage theme in memory of Kunal ?

Maybe you’ve come accross Edge’s post today about Kunal tragic death, or maybe you’ve received his email saturday. This is really sad, sad news and David Edgerton (Edge) is really devastated.

I was wondering if we could work on a special (discrete) homepage theme to show our support to his family and friends (we could ask David what kind of thematics would be appropriate there), and our gratitude for all his contributions to the community. Since october is dedicated to pink october, maybe we could have this set up for november ?

Another idea would be to have a link to a page with testimonies from all who have known him during his time here. I could mean a lot to his family and friends to see his memory honored by those who collaborated with him. I know it’s always hard to find the appropriate tone, maybe it’s not the right thing to do. I just thought we should do something.

What do you think ?

I don’t know what to do, just feeling so sad of his family, his father passed in March, and now he is.

I recommended something in the post made about Kunal. What I recommend is a small section within MODx for a dedication and memorium for those who have had an impact on the MODx community and/or have passed. We could have it added under the Help section...maybe part of the Credits, About MODx, or just have a separate page for it. Either way, I think this would serve as a greater dedication since it would be a permanent part of the MODx core and would be updated with each subsequent update.

Jeff, it’s a wonderful idea, it would be kind of like the emeritus section of the MODx team page in a way. But which page would fit the best ?
Not the team page, not the ambassador’s... wouldn’t it be appropriate to have a page for contributors (e.g highly active forum users or/and people who contributed code to the project) ? Then we could add those who contributed and are not there anymore, for whatever reason.

Same here, I think this a great idea and a fitting tribute.

A contributors page would be nice. We could always break up the content into different sections and have one section devoted to a memorium or the like.
