Hi I uploaded modx into two different folders in my server I installed on one and took the other down from the server deleted it as I was having a problem previewing my pages locally and also wanted to use my personal site as a starting line as I am new to using cms. My problem is that when I try to preview my pages now I keep getting this message that it cannot be displayed as my encoding is not right, it was western-latin1 it recommended that I use utf-8 I changed it to this and still have the same problem, other pages from previous sites I have designed work perfect could anybody make any suggestions to me please.

    Thanks

If that database is in Latin1, you need to specify that encoding in the install. Using UTF-8 would require that the DB and all tables and fields in it are also in UTF-8. You can look at the DB in PhpMyAdmin to see what the settings are, but don’t change them there or you’ll be in even more trouble.
