Would that be the server there or is it MODx ?

Indeed, it is probably worth reminding people that OpenSourceCMS are running a large number of databases that are being visited by many people and it is unsurprising that they will hit their max user from time to time.
That error has MODx reporting that it has errored because PHP errored, which in turn points the finger at MySQL.
It should be possible to trap for this error and display a prettier "Database server busy" message. It would be interesting to know what other CMSes did in this situation.
The other thing to do would be to manage expectations and to make it clearer to people that the MODx demo is hosted by a third party. But then we already seem to link to the MODx page on OSCMS rather than directly to the demo.
