I would just maybe go a bit slower, hard to read and take it all in for non MODxers... but other than that, it’s pro, it’s punchy and it’s coooool

As far as the translating goes, how do you want to proceed ?
Could you copy paste the content into a text file, to make it easier for translators ?
Then we could notify all MODx ambassadors via PM to have them work on this

ahhh... its making me to go and do some animation! ... though it was about 2 years ago I did them last time .. but I’ll try to do some.

The video is very nice but rather under-sells the changes to the MODx core - one gets the impression that all that is new is a manager template, some site templates and some snippets. It wouldn’t convince me to upgrade, I’d probably just hunt down the extras.

I know it’s not finished - what more do you intend to add?

Perhaps some quotes from users could be inserted which would promote the core code improvements and bugfixes : "Smoother and faster than ever!" etc.

I agree with you Paul - I need to explain more MODx features, that’s why I’ve posted here the video -

for example (from Ryan 0.9.5 beta thread):

* ability to have link attributes (think target="_blank" or onclick=""...)
* categories for resources in the manager
* a bulk document manager to make updates to many documents at once a breeze
* Ajax search / Live Search that works out of the box without configuration
* more robust default snippets including Ditto, Wayfinder and eForm

- security (I’m not an explert but seems that Netnoise works great )
- layout and themes (manager templates, Andrea’s and Zi’s web templates...)
- code features (xPDO (ok not now), API, faster manager...)
- other (frontend editing, new modules, snippets...)

...and should be nice get some words from here :

Agreed, we could pick some of the most striking words...

Question : are we bound to the 30seconds limit ?
It’s going to be tough to add all this within the time limit...

We could also have several version : 30 seconds, 60 seconds...

I think I will do a 1.30" version to explain more features (and slower ), please help me to create a list of best MODx features, then we should traslate in more languages..

First, I agree about a longer version, and in fact I think we should start with the longer one, then choose what’s the most punchy and create a 30" spot from it.

Second, I think we should not only focus on features (and about features, we have to carefully select what we keep there) but also a short bit on fact and figures about the community (would help contextualize it).

What do you think ?

I agree with you and I think we can start merging both video and focus on:

- About MODx : story, community, forum, opensource, philosophy....
- MODx features: cms/cmf, webstandard support, SEO, simple installation, ...
- MODx snippets, modules and code things :a short view about Ditto, Way FinderMaxiGallery, SMf integtation, Gallery 2 integration..
- MODx design : web templates, manager templates..
- MODx in the web: some screenshot of modx website (floating in the screen like first video)
- Latest (0.9.5) MODx improvement
- END - pay off and Stay tune!


most of this content should be used for a pdf brochure in a next future
