Odd, I had no problems connecting for several days (once I figured out how to use my preferred client). I did finally register my username, but it doesn’t seem to make much difference. I use irc.freenode.net as the server, I’ve tried others and couldn’t get in.

Well for me it was also the nick that prevented me to connect : not that it needed registering but it was too generic and probably conflicting with another one (a good thing is to take a highly unlikely nick, try it Wendy & Susan, it just might work... IRC is so great ! Would be even greater to have you there
