Confused About Template Previews

Hello,

I’m a total newbie to modx, so forgive me if I’m asking a dumb question.

I would like to check out some of the front end templates, but I cannot find a way of previewing the templates before loading them into modx.

If I go here: http://modxcms.com/extras/repository/packages/?tag=Templates&repository=11 the templates are listed, but do I get an idea of what they look like. Even on the "more info" pages there are no preview images - I checked this on two different computers and with two different browsers on each.

Your assistance would be appreciated. Thank you!

The template creators/converters are responsible for providing the screenshots.

When viewing the information about a template, on the right there is a link "Visit Support Thread in Forums". For most of the templates I’ve added, there is a screenshot in the forum post.

I checked the EXTRAS Page, I am sure there was a image with all templates in the past.

On the more info Page there is a large gap where I remember also showed a image of template.

Also I did not see a catagory for templates, only style which I know contains templates.

Susan your images are still in the forum under support thread.

Something seems wrong (to me) as I am shure I have seen these images in the past (Hope not another Senior Moment).

Yes, there used to be images, but not since some changes/updates to the add-on management system.

Have some of the categories also gone missing.

Does anyone know if this is going to be restored as it seems a bit pointless to ’advertise templates’ a ’visual thing’ without showing same.

Maybe the powers that be (the overworked ones) have just overlooked this facility in all the important sorry vital work going on at moment.

Hope this can be restored at some future date.

The docs are obviously a priority in this area at present.

We need to work on a much better way to handle the templates in general. We hope to have a solution soon. Thanks for dealing with this in the interim.

Thanks @rthrah I know you are all tied up with Revo release at present.

The work load must be terrific and all the changes at one time Revo, Git, new servers the list just goes on great work all involved, please don’t burn yourselves out.

If I see the hours some of you are awake I am amased you are still going so great.
