0.9.6.2-rc1 is available for download

I’ll make a public announcement shortly, but just wanted to say that all the outstanding changes committed to the 0.9.6 branch have been merged to trunk and a build is ready from http://modxcms.com/beta.html

Is there any chance to include this update of the installer in the 0.9.6.2 ?

#MODx87 (database_connection_charset is an empty value) and #MODx141 (Install mod to verify MySQL version + strict mode) are two issues with hight severity not corrected on the current trunk.

admin note: edited to point directly to the installer update in question ... sounds like a great improvement to me

I understood that those were checked into the 0.9.6 branch? If not and you want them included, please commit it and I’ll be glad to merge it and re-post.

Until now, it was a proposal, first (#MODx87) proposed on crucible. I have added the #MODx141 correction proposed by Shane and ask for some tests.
Ok I will commit these changes and ask for testing. In the same time, This will need to update the language files of the new installer. I will organize that with Motsmart.

I have noticed that the version of AjaxSearch is not the last version (1.7.1), so I will update it too. I will check the others snippets.

Alright, my bad; I just haven’t been able to pay as close attention as I want with the 0.9.6.x branch. As Ryan says, thank you so much for taking leadership on getting it ready for release. We’re getting to the point where we need additional volunteer help to manage the development activities, and your efforts are duly noted!

Previously i had a commit on RTL branch about style change when language changes, so all languages can have their specific style needs say- font size, face etc... specially for RTL languages that needs a direction to be changed to RTL, ( class="<?php echo $_lang[’language_prefix’]?> ) You can have a diff change preview on this: http://svn.modxcms.com/crucible/changelog/modx/branches/0.9.6-rtl?cs=3522 let me know if you need more information on this or want me to commit this again to 0.9.6 branch?

Jesse, have you opened up a JIRA account, if so, ping Jason and he’ll get you into the committers group, or submit a patch and we can incorporate it from there..

Just a question or consider it as a suggestion, Can we include an RTL manager theme (based on MODxlight manager theme) & another one for the front-end use (based on MODxHost template) as of default theme/template in both back & front-ends?

BTW theme/template is ready to be committed, So what do you say?
