Hi everyone,
So, I am very much new to the MODx community; I decided to give it a try after experiencing unparalleled frustration with Drupal 6, and realizing how great MODx is for web developers. Anyways, I am currently in the first stages of a large web project - basically just getting ideas solidified - and wanted to get some feedback from a few experienced MODx users, because I’m not sure if MODx will meet my needs or if I will need to build my own custom CMS.
The site that I am working on is a personal project for my small business of computer repair and other services. The main motivation behind the site is to enable site visitors to obtain more than just basic service information, but to seek basic troubleshooting ideas via handwritten guides, and for clients to be able to login and view exclusive content as well. Technicians would be able to login and access an easy to search and maneuver database of all clientèle, with information like services rendered, computer specifications, and other similar things associated to what we could call a client node. Other things like a regularly updated blog would be available too, and would have new topics streamed to the front page of the site.
With that said, I would prefer no one but me (for now), be able to view the back end of the site via the manager. So, my question to everyone is: is this something feasible within the confines of MODx? Or, should I just go the extra mile and build from scratch my own CMS?
Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Revo would handle this very well. It could be done in Evo, but would be a bit more difficult.

Revo is a totally different application. While its CMS output is the same as Evo’s and its CMS component behaves in a similar manner, Revo is actually a fully buzzword compliant OOP, ORM, ORB, CRUD (and a bunch of other stuff I can never remember) -based web application framework. It has stuff built in to it to make custom applications much cleaner and easier to develop.
