Hmmm, it’s not about code !
The code works alright !!!
I finally suspected the @import rule is not working the way a link is working and maybe Spybot (anti Spyware program) was interfering. It was not.
So I tried to disable real time protection of Kapersky anti-virus and guess what : it works ! It’s a real problem though... what if other anti-virus programs mess up the website for IE users... I guess Kapersky has IE specific routines... So much time lust for this

Flash Of Unstyled Content (FOUC).

I was reffering to the part in bold. BTW, FOUC happens not only in IE;
Safari also suffers from it.
