Yes, it took quite some time to write but the avatars, username, and profile links are all integrated with SMF. When you post, it checks if your logged in and if so, automatically adds your stuff to the post. I don’t think it updates with SMF but it’ll be good enough for now. Jason even had to rewrite part of SMF’s SSI to get it to work with MODx!

FYI: We are editing the comments CSS right now so things might be messed up for a bit!

If avatars are integrated, then we must set the max dimensions of avatars to some 80x80 or lower, or commenter’s avatars really mess-up blog look.

QUESTION: Is this using MODx, SMF, or both? I know with MODx we are able to do this, but from what I read, it seems that ur user account on SMF is being used to identify our post. Hemmm...

I’m just curious.

It’s both, we’re using the SMF SSI.php to gather some data from the forums when you are logged into the forums to display it in the blog.

Personnally, I would love it since I have been using it for two years with textpattern

One thing about the blog : I notice you downsized the team badges, and I liked the layout better with the bigger badges floating alongside the title of comments. I know it’s less space efficient that way but it was more readable before...

Another thing : I’d advise to define background-color: white for the #sidebar => each time I follow a link and a new page loads, the sidebar first loads with a black background and then "fills" itself with white. It’s visually annoying

Anyway, nice work on those RSS and permalink buttons

A little off topic, let me finish by saying I am really amazed by the job this team has done and excited by the future !!! Modxcms.com redesign, the upcoming dev blog, the plans for the future... well, I am quite honored to be part of this great team

I have two websites coming up running MODx, with happy clients (QuickEdit rocks ! and MODx is really quickly adopted, clients love it) and I plan to switch my own as soon as I get time, as well as my blog. And last but not least, as soon as the cash starts coming in, I’ll make sure to check that donation page !

Does anyone know what’s causing the slow rendering time on those pages?
