Look and feel

I want to show one CMS that in my opinion has the perfect look and feel that is missing in Modx. I think that this style is the way to go to get more and more users.

It’s ECM, it seems, and it’s Tomcat / JRE / JBoss, another world entirely...

I tend to agree that we could deal with a few more up front marketing and case studies down the road, but at the moment we’re pretty much still targeting the developers and whatnot. Good points all around.

To be honest, I find MODx a lot easier in the look and feel department, especially with the amount of click-throughs that Alfresco system has - it didn’t score too highly in my view in terms of usability.

Still, with the advent of the ’pick list’ (from which you can do many things, like select a language or even create a space, or even an advanced space) and the drop zone or the briefcase and the Advanced Search screen that would make most of my content authors curl up and die ... I really don’t like it.

Yes, we need to find our own UI, but I think we can really surpass this.

I admit I never installed a Java-based application (though I found Magnolia to be quite interresting). How hard is it to set up a testing environnement, compared to PHP ?
