Ooops will I get this one right at last rolleyes
      Thanks Zi for the correction.

And again thanks Paul for language proofing my english, I have a few quirks there !

@Jason: if there is anything inconsistent about 1.0 or you’d like me to edit any part, just jump in and edit!
I was not sure about what kind of disclosure should be made, especially the xPDO part... and the rough timeframes too (hinting about 0.9.7 not 1.0 of course).

There’s nothing there that isn’t in the public forum if you look hard enough; but still I think that MODx’s blog and announcement feeds should tell our users that this is out there because some of them might not be aware of the big picture and they deserve to know.

Oh, and I actually quite enjoy proof-reading. I’ve stuck to US English (check not cheque), which pained me slightly..

On the whole though, it’s a good interview - it gives advice that can be applied to other open source projects and plugs MODx well. A good start to the also-we-do-MODx-ification of TXPmag.
No, I don't know what OpenGeek's saying half the time either.

Tweaked a pair of things which weren’t right : Nicola not being mentionned as part of the marketing effort and also not mentionning Jason when talking about 1.0. Those two items are corrected smiley

              In blue, added parts :

(...) One very nice thing for me is that Ryan is pretty involved with marketing MODx (and has lots of great ideas), as is Zaigham (aka Zi), modxcms.com outstanding designer’s and forum admin. Nicola Lambathakis (aka Banzai) – italian moderator and prolific template creator – is also part of the effort (see YouTube links below). (...)

              and

(...) Then, there is the major step which is 1.0 itself. Basically a full rewrite of the MODx core which started a year ago, object oriented and based on xPDO. There would be too much to say about it, and none of it would match what the author of the new codebase, Jason Coward (aka OpenGeek) could tell you. Allow me to oversimplify and say MODx is currently a framework built on top of core CMS features, but with 1.0 it will be a CMS built on top of a core framework. (....)

OK guys, latest news : the inteview will be split in 2 parts (was too long as such tongue).

First Part : What are the grounds of a successful OS project ?

                Question 1 and 2.
(Split before "Q. Okay, another completely different question: are you an extensive shopper smiley? ". Then you could place the shopping question somewhere in the second part)

Second Part : This one is really about marketing OS, Starts with " Q. You are the main marketing director of MODx. That does imply you are responsible to popularize MODx CMS. Correct?" and to the end.

First part should be published tomorrow !
I’ll communicate the url as soon as I get it.

The second part will be published a bit later, don’t know yet when...
Alexandra told me there might be an interview of Jason and Paul, she expecting news from you guys !

She really hit it with MODx, as she puts it :
I did ask ’What makes a good OS community for you’ on Joomla! forum... jesus they have issues there, i can tell after reading through a couple of long, long threads... somehow similar to TXP. Best answers i got from ModX forum!

                8)

                The Joomla thread :
                http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,116888.0.html

One of the most illustrating post is from Brad Baker, Joomla Core team member and forum admin :

*You’re all* (if the cap fits, wear it) happy to moan and pick faults with Joomla all the time. The facts are, we ARE a sucessful open source project, and we are doing a great job. History shows we WILL NOT stand still. You can join in with the current established status quo (*reference below) and contribute, or you (plural, again if the cap fits..) can choose to see only negatives and be the very ones who foster and continue to promote a ’them and us’ attitude but your negative and argumentative posts and participation.

He then refers to this article : http://www.oreillynet.com/conferences/blog/2006/07/oscon_how_open_source_projects.html, which I don’t care much for... I much prefer Help Vampires: A Spotter’s Guide
