I have a client who is trying to upload an image using the file browser in Evo 1.0.4 and he keeps getting the message "wrong file type" on a PC under Firefox v3.6.8, even though I don’t see this message on a Mac running Firefox v3.6.6. I have never had any problems on Modx uploading files using the manager so this is a weird one.

Has anyone ran across this problem before and know how to solve it?

Is he uploading it to a folder that accepts that file type? Ask him what folder is he trying to save the file to and check in your system settings if that specific folder supports that file type to be saved.

It’s either that or a chmod problem, just make sure he is uploading to the correct folder because clients sometimes like to do whatever they want.

Just a day ago I run into the same issue. Because it happened only to a Manager User with a rather restricted role (not to the Admin), I checked the special configuration of that user and found that the input fields for all the uploadable file types were empty, but nevertheless the checklist ticks "Use System Configuration Setting" were all unchecked.
        Checking them solved the problem!
