Drupal 4.7 release : a nice catchy video

Keeping an eye on the competition, I’ve installed the latest release of Drupal... they have followed the path of WordPress, sugar-coating the admin with some basic (but nice) AJAX effects. You can watch a little video here :

(We definitely have to do one of those, it’s catchy !).

I’ll do a test run of this build, and also someone on the french forums advocated that the Flexinode module was just as flexible as MODx TVs (I doubt that but I’ll check...). One thing where they stand ahead of us is the taxonomy module, and also revisionning/rollback.

Nice looking video. I think MODx 1.0 will see some more powerful TVs (or simlar) so that will it should be one step ahead.

I still have to test the Flexinode module... as I said I doubt it will be as powerful as TVs even as they are today but I have to check, since I get people telling me Drupal can do the same as MODx with Flexinode...

The thing right now is Drupal admin has some AJAX while we still harbor traditionnal javascript with frames... but that will be old story with the new manager, probably when 1.0 is released ?

I’m not sure what’s on the Roadmap for 1.0 as I’ve not seen it as yet but I think Ryan and Jason should be working on it.

What I do know is that GreenCore’s Manager interface will be 100% AJAX (or what ever it’s called)

Is it just me or does every one of these type of videos sound like they’re narrated by the same person? The nondescript baratone voice with a stuffy nose. Maybe it’s the microphones being used. Not many of us invest in a decent mic for computer use.
