Someone looking for a CMS/Framework:
CMS / Framework - 2006/02/25 12:56 Hello,

we are planning a new PHP framework to integrate AJAX and other technologies and would like to know if you could recommend a framework or CMS, based in a solid framework, we will collaborate in developmente, including at least this features:

- Stable with active community
- Able to develop multilingual applications
- Total separation between PHP and HTML code, template based
- Some kind of basic AJAX integration
- Easy to develop and integrate new modules, plugins, ....

I responded: Sound MODx would be a good choice in this case.

And got someone else attention and he respond:
Yea I aggree with MODx, try it out as it sounds just like what you need.

And now he post this comment at opensourceCMS on MODx demo:
I tried Typo3, Mambo (Jamoola wasn’t out), PhpNuke, E107, Etomite, Drupal, Netdoc, Webgui, Egroupware (with Sitemgr), Site Baker, Plone and more..... So I can say quite comfortanly that MODx is the best CMS available.

I have to be honest and say there aren’t the 100’s of addons (Modules, Snippets & Plugins) that are in other CMS’s, but its still in BETA and rivals other CMS for core functionality. However, with some PHP knowledge you can built what ever you want into the CMS, if like me you don’t have that skill, there are many helpful people on the forums or IRC who are always friendly and helpful.

More stuff is being added everyday and is making MODx kick arse of all other more mature CMS’s.

I’m glad I found it and the community and highly recommend you at least try it for yourself.

I have to keep a watch of those forums too... yeah, Briggsys is a great contributor here... Anyway, I’ll check that out !
