New CMS for Daihatsu - Getting rid of ASP classic in favour of Modx

A few years ago we where approached by Daihatsu to re-design their website and provide a comprehensive CMS system. In those days all their online systems, where hosted on a Windows server and ran ASP classic. We agreed to shelve our blatant favoritism for LAMP developments and developed an ASP based CMS system based on one of the few open source systems we could find.
It worked fairly well in the beginning, and we went about doing a whole range of 3D rotations in Flash for the vehicles and got the site looking pretty good, however as time went on the ASP system started to weigh heavy. Updates became tedious, the database (Access DB- ouch) started to take strain and our current re-design was difficult due to the lack of standards compliant CSS.
We did the aesthetic re-design and after a few weeks, the decision was made to change the back end as well and move the entire site over to a Linux server and use our version of Modx CMS. We did the full transfer of the design in just over a week, and while we where at it streamlined the dealer locator and a few other elements.
The final result is less buggy menu’s, a more stable DB and faster load times. Not to mention the ease of updating and re-designing in the future. I think its safe to say the dinosaur ASP classic is extinct, well at least for us anyways.

Actually i got many results in numbers but how many of them are really different from each other in using of modx potentials?, that was the reason i didn’t get much, but the idea of ’you and your site’ s topics review would be just enough to see what have been done with modx in different ways for different needs.
