Sitescore update

Wow... I’m continuing to be surprised by how well we’re performing at the sitescore game. As of this morning, we continue to climb in the rankings overall and are doing really well in several categories. We’ve broken into the top 100 sites in every category and overall in fact!

Overall: #85 of 48,121 websites tested so far.

#100 in Marketing
  #18 in Design
  #30 in Accessibility
  #38 in Experience
    #2 in User (!)


So, what does that tell me? We really need more inbound links. We should create a powered-by chunk to include in the next Tech Preview and request that people do so on their sites, although it certainly won’t be mandatory.



We then need to create an online site registry pointing out to those sites that have the Powered By chunk on them which will help their search rankings considerably and also provide inbound links. It’s a win-win, I think.

Good idea. I also think that once we get the online snippet/plugin/module/template repository up that will provide a lot of links from the creators of the resources and maybe even the users if the snippet or template has a link back to the repository.

We need to be careful about the site registry though. I looked for sites that linked to etomite.org and one of the top ones that came up was a site about marijuana. We need to make sure we can steer clear of associations with any questionable sites.

I dont know about Site Registery service yet, but our linking status is as follows !

About 4,000 other websites were found linking to this website. (130 quality links, out of 4000). The website is extremely well linked to.

AND its automatically going up day by day, 130 quality links are very good achievement while we didn’t do any serious marketing process, I just posted link backs in the forums I visit time to time, also its on my PR3 homepage ...

SEF urls are our support in this regard, also Ryan’s recent revisions to main site are very good !

To make this thing, we must consider very precise manners to do it, because as Adam said Marijuana -> Etomite

In all seriousness, 3.3 could be a killer release for us with content (pixelhick.com) and with a filecabinet code repository.
