Accidentally installing Revo in Evo install

Another poster’s problems got me to thinking about this. What if someone accidentally uploads Revo over Evo and runs setup? Does Revo see it as a new install rather than an upgrade? Are there any safeguards in place for this?

At the very least, we should have a prominent warning on the Revo download page to prevent people from doing this by accident.

It would be recognized as a migration from Evo. Revo setup looks for a config file either in the new location or in the old Evo location and decides how to proceed. For now the process is not implemented, so it will likely just cause a PHP error. I will be working on this extensively in the next few weeks.

How about "Revolution is not Evolution"? Very concise don’t you think?

Definitely.

IMO, there needs to be a much more prominent and clear in warning to users on the download page about installing Revo over Evo.

Think we could put in a warning temporarily until the full-tilt solution is ready?

This needs to be a permanent warning actually; folks need to be aware that moving from Evo to Revo is more than running an upgrade: it’s a migration process with manual steps.
