    Hi guys,

I’ve just started a new job as an in-house web designer for a B2B electronics store.

My employers want a website showcasing their products and prices, but WITHOUT a cart system involved. The reason they don’t need a cart is due to the cost of the products they sell and the B2B market they are in. Some of their most popular items cost thousands, so a cart functionality would not really be something they’d need as most customers come into the store after checking the site.

So the main functionality I require is a product inventory. I notice KiweeCommerce is dead and TreasureChest may be the way to go, but can I strip the cart functionality from TreasureChest without it breaking the code? I’ve not had the chance to use either extension so would like some guidance on this.

Also optionally, my employers would like to offer a ’price builder’ where users can click checkboxes to add extras to the product and get a live update on the screen for the total buy price/lease price. I may be able to code this myself using TreasureChest combined with some jQuery, but if there’s any extensions that can offer me this functionality that would be great!

I’ve mocked up a couple of templates and I’m ready to integrate them into a CMS.

I’ve used modx in a few projects over the last couple of years and have always loved it as a designer but are there extensions I can use to achieve the functionality I explained? The project is quite a large one so I don’t have a lot of time to code my own extensions. I know CMSs such as Joomla!, osCommerce et al offer extensions to quite easily achieve this with little coding involved but if modx can do this, even if it’s just a product inventory, it would save me a large learning curve having to get to grips with a new CMS.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    in b4 TL;DR grin

    Cheers,
    Mike

Depending of the amount of products ShopKeeper may suit very well to your needs: http://modxcms.com/extras/package/527

Sorry, no. As I’m aware of Revolution doesn’t have anything like ShopKeeper etc. yet. But if you are comfortable with PHP I don’t think it would be that hard to build your own custom "shopping basket / calculator" with Revolution’s new API.
