Lots of work going on to get this ready. Of note, Shaun recently removed our dependency on Mootools in the manager in favor of using pure Ext, and it has improved the previously questionable performance of the new manager considerably.
Otherwise, here are a list of key tasks I believe need to still be completed (or at least considered) before we release 0.9.7-alpha to the public. Please let me know if you can think of others that need to be added to this list. I’ll be adding these tasks to a new Trac system as soon as possible in conjunction with moving our SVN from cvsdude to our new dedicated server (which features SVN, Trac, Fisheye, and Crucible). I’m going to be posting another topic today regarding how to install from SVN, as there is now a small build process that must be executed to prepare the core package before running the setup.
If you have time to contribute to this list of tasks, or to test 0.9.7 from SVN, or to convert key add-ons, it would be great to have more eyes on it. Just let us know if you are going to take a shot at a particular task (preferrably via IM directly or via the #xpdo IRC channel, where shaun and I hang out).

There’s a lot of working going on for a site redesign for MODxCMS.com and I hope to have some more definitive things there by the end of the week ... Until then any previews using a default Ext theme should be OK.
I’d like to coordinate the manager a bit more closely to the new site work.

Pardon my ignorance, but what exactly is "Ext" ?
Update: Could it be

Wow guys, Ext looks really sharp, not to mention powerful! The 2.0 demo is pretty spectacular...
