Hi,
I must say very good move on the TinyMCE plugin Jeff. It’s html generated format is much better than FCKEditor at the moment. I for one also like the new TinyMCE table plugins.
FCKEditor is in beta 2.3 and it seems like Fred will be making some cool new changes. TinyMCE is here and working today and seems to support a much better aPI than FCK. I’ll be watching them very closely to see which editor I should create Plugins for. I’ve started create some plugins for FCK but ran into some problems.
Jeff,
FCKEditor 2.3 is now stable (I think).
Which is now the default editor for MODx? Is it TinyMCE or FCKEditor?
I’m working on getting the 2.3 version out. I just need to make sure there isn’t anything new or depricated in the way of parameters and such. Right now, FCKEditor is still the default. However, with the release of 0.9.5 I think we’re going to switch the default to TinyMCE since it’s more compliant and easier to work with (doesn’t screw up your code nearly as much!).

Personally I prefer FCK to TinyMCE but I have to agree with you FCK likes to mess with the HTML code. I’ve written to the dev team and I thik Fred is looking into it. From what I see I think 2.3 has some cool under the hood features.
