Proposed change for SVN and how we handle files cross-platform

I’d like for the people that have SVN access to please comment on this bug and its comments:

If you know of a better way to handle text files cross-platform, I’m open to ideas

I’m for changes that make it more consistent. Then again, I suppose we could have a process to do the same thing on building a distribution to avoid the commit blues. Then again, we should also appropriately tag any file in the repository with revision headers, copyright info and licensing revisions.

Good points Ryan. I’ll add that to things to look at.

I do feel pretty strongly that the right time to manage all that stuff is at checking not at distribution. I’ll work on ways of automating the process.
