General Project Bluewater Update

    Looks like there’s several key initiatives going on:

    Manager Template Engine: Raymond
    TV2 (content fields): Raymond
    Object Persistence / Data Abstraction: Jason
    Merge User Types: Jason
    Merge Snippets/Plugins: Adam
    Merge Chunks/Templates: Raymond (?)
    Bootstrap: Victor

    Future:
    Upgrade DB from 0.9.1
    Installer overhaul / internal packagae installer
    API cleanups optimization
    MODx Workspace

    What else am I missing here?

    When do you guys think we’ll hit some of this stuff.

      I think we’re making some progress but I don’t think we will see this come to life before the end of this year.

      We have some huge hurdles to overcome before we can see it come to life.

        I have no doubt that this is an ’06 initiative... probably closer to June than January.

          Raymond is working on multi-lingual stuff along with the new manager right?

          I think we really need to address installers and packaging. I think a lot of the reason we havn’t had more plugins and modules especially being rolled out is because the install/upgrade process is such a pain in the neck.

            Yes, I’m partly working on the new Manager but the multi-lingual stuff is more API specific. I’ll only create a working sample of such.

            The installer/packager should be included in 9.5 only no need to focus on 0.9.1 since it will not support many of the new features.
