    I’m talking about all the options, of which that is one. You can use your own custom transliteration tables to do exactly what you describe.

      Ok... Sounds like something I’d have to hire a programmer for...?

      What I used to love about MODx Evo was that it was so easy for a designer with a fair amount of development experience (like myself) to do pretty much everything you’d need for a basic fully functional site, but since Revo it seems to me things have gotten a bit, well, complicated :’(

        I know OpenGeek... the only question is : why, by default, the "äôù" are deleted instead of being translated by "aou" ?

          Hi,

          I try to use Revo for a new project smiley
          I have a little problem with the friendly alias autogeneration.

          I have accentuated pagetitle like "Présentation" and I want the alias "presentation"

          I didn't found in the documentation the options available for the parameters friendly_alias_restrict_chars_pattern

          Is something like this is correct for this parameter :
          /[\0\x0B\t\n\r\f\a&=+%#<>"~`@\?\[\]\{\}\|\^'\\]/éèëàáãäïíìõöóòüúùÿýñ

          Have you solved this problem yet? I have the same problem with åäö...

            If you have iconv in your environment, have you tried setting friendly_alias_translit to the value "iconv"? Otherwise, you can try http://modx.com/extras/package/translit with the noaccent transliteration table.

              Sorry to resuscitate this thread, but i simply wanted to point out the obvious for anyone with questions pertaining to special character removal with friendly alias.

              I almost lost another day asking questions if I didn't search the forums and I hope this will help someone.

              Opengeek's solution is further discussed here: https://forums.modx.com/index.php/topic,52617.0.html. Translit is also available on Github: http://github.com/opengeek/translit

              In other words, just install translit using package manager and update the following keys in system settings:

              friendly_alias_translit = noaccents
              friendly_alias_translit_class = translit.modTransliterate

              There are currently 3 tables: noaccents, german, russsian.

              Once the settings are updated, simply create or update an existing resource with special characters in the alias to see if it woks.
