There is, I think, a fundamental flaw with the permissions system as it is set up in the Manager.

For example, let’s assume I want all documents publicly viewable from the webuser side, but a subset of them editable by a specific manager user group. More specifically, assume you want the documentation team to add and edit documents in the documentation team directory, but no where else on the site...

Unless I’m missing something, I think that based on this issue we should try to get a proper system in place ASAP along with a manager overhaul and tag that for TP4 and a release ASAP.

Upon waking, this is still a major usability issue. I hope it will be a very simple thing to have two columns for web user access and manager user access, with public on by default for both. E.g.:

Here you can select which document groups this document belongs to



That would be infinitely more intuitive!

Documents are independent of user groups but you can log this for future versions.
