There's been a couple of bugs come up and some general issues with the installer. I'd like to get out Preview 2 to address these given that Raymond has already addressed the installer problems. Please test it out and provide feedback here:
    new install files

I'd also like to see any of the serious bugs in the Bug reports thread addressed. Anything else that should be done?

On a very related note, it's now time to really start to use the Subversion tools so we don't overwrite things and mess them up. See the Subversion instructions Sticky post at the top of the DevTeam forum. Also until we get Trac up and working and everyone familiar with it, we should probably use a topic renaming convention for bugs in the Bug reports forum, including closing/locking any messages that resolve bug fixes.

How about using something similar to what was done on Etomite, including:
      [report] - for bug reports
      [bug] - confirmed bugs
[fixed 1.0pre1] - for bugs that are fixed, including the release they were fixed in (in this example, Tech Preview 1)
[pending] - fixed bugs, but not in any current public release

I'd llike to propose we move forward with getting preview 2 out with the following changes:

        • installer fixes from above
        • fix variables used in account message (see bug report)
        • fix the looping manager bug (see bug report)
        • remove index.html from images directory (and anywhere else where could cause problems)
        • replace HTMLarea with the newest version of TinyMCE (with new image and file manger) or FCKeditor
        • [/list:u]

Let's start committing this stuff to SVN and get cranking!

Would the fix in the code be posted? That would be useful for coders to be able to go ahead and patch their existing installations.

Man! I've checked out the new TinyMCE editor and must say it's fully loaded!

            http://tinymce.moxiecode.com/index.php

We could integrate HTMLArea's advance Images Manager and table Manager into TinyMCE and we would have a very very powerful editor!

We could still keep HMTLArea but label it as deprecated or only run it in strick modes.

I believe we could make patches for this purpose, but I'm not 100% certain that's what patches are in SVN...anyone?

Ryan, is it possible we can use Basecamp for tracking responsibilities on this (e.g. using tasks and milestones)? I'd like to make some contributions but I've got no idea who is working on what for when, and tend to get frustrated when inventing the same wheel someone else already has rolling down the street.

Jason, I'm updating Basecamp now with Tech Preview 2 jobs.

Susan, there are no fixes committed to SVN yet. I'll just go ahead and update what I've got from Raymond, I guess. No patches, either.

Where in the code are the replacement variables used/replaced in the email messages that go out. I'd like to fix that ASAP and commit it.

I've exhausted my ability to make quick fixes and commit things to the trunk that I know shouldn't cause problems. Could use some help getting the bugs squished that aren't locked in the bugs forum. Thanks.

We're just a bug and a rich text editor away from the next preview release. smiley
