After reading so much on how people are really diggin’ Modx I really wanted to give this a go around, but I can’t get it installed. At first I tried 000webhost and they pretty much suck unless you pay for hosting so I went with GoDaddy which surprisingly since I bought my domain name there I have a free hosting site with allot more control.

I uploaded the modx-2.0.0-pl.zip to my root and unpacked it there. On the first go I was not able to get passed the database install portion. After this road block I Set all the permissions I’ve read about in posts. Still... Same issue. Can;t get passed database install screen and I get NO prompts or errors. Using FireBug I do note something interesting:

    invalid regular expression flag n
[Break on this error] {"message":"No processor specified!","...></table></body></html><!-- adsok -->\n
    ext-core.js (line 10)
    POST http://INPUTmywebsiteHERE.com/setup/processors/connector.php

    Any help on this?

    Thanks -RJ

Your upload may be somewhat corrupt so I would give it another try. If you are still having issues post back and let us know. I know the GoDaddy hosting is a little lacking, so you may want to look into another option. I recommend Site5 the pricing is reasonable and support’s good.

I just re-downloaded it, unpacked and tried to install again and no luck. I understand GoDaddy may not be ideal, but I would see no reason for it not to work. I have allot of control over what I can do with the site. Quite frustrating. Any other options to try?

If you want to PM me the information I can take a look for you. I agree it should work, I know i’ve gotten Evo to work on GD.

Is this because I’m using a hosted database? I don’t have any other option to choose local.

That shouldn’t be a problem provided the database can be accessed from the server in question. A local DB may run faster, but isn’t required.

Any luck or anything else I can try? I’ve been stuck for days. I keep reading and no one seems to have this issue.

                  Hi,

I have the same problem when trying to install modx revolution 2.0 (though I’m not using free hosting).
(Previously I had modx evo 1.0 on the same site, I had absolutely no problem with installing it.)

I get to the "Connection Information" page, I put my database information, I click on "Test database server connection and view collations", I receive the message "Connecting to mysql server: Success!"

However I can’t go on from this point, because there is ONLY a "BACK" button at the bottom of this page.

Clicking on "Create or test selection of your database" doesn’t do anything.

                  Any suggestion?

I don’t think you’ll ever have luck with free GoDaddy hosting.

                      It sounds like PDO is misconfigured;

                      - What’s your PHP Version?
                      - MySQL client and server version?
                      - Any opcode caching on, such as eAccelerator, APC, xCache, winCache, etc?
                      - mod_security on?
                      - Have you read Troubleshooting Installation, especially the part about PDO errors?
                      - Any relevant errors in core/cache/logs/error.log or the *install logs in core/cache/logs/?
