Ok I removed the .htaccess and can see the home page. > http://www.bonesofpa.info but none of the sub-pages.
So I guess I’ve messed something up in the .htaccess file?

Below is the code for .htaccess file. What am I doing wrong???

Was this site up and running on test/local server? Can you access the manager area on the new site and check to make sure the path settings are correct?

Another approach might be to install BkUpMODx on your test site, create the archive, do a clean install of MODx (same version) on the host site, install BkUpMODx on the remote site, and then upload the archive.

Turn off Friendly URLs in the Manager (if you can get to the Manager). If you can’t, you’ll have to do it in the modx_system_settings table in the DB. With FURLs on and no .htaccess file, the links MODx creates will be wrong.

I always recommend turning off FURLS and renaming .htaccess before moving it site. It’s one less thing to go wrong.

Yes it was running great on the local server setup.
I can get to the Manager on the site if I remove the .htaccess file.
So the problem must be in the .htaccess and I’m stumped!

I tried BkUpMODx but failed I did not understand how to set up the lines in the file you have to mod.

Also noticed the Ajax search function that worked locally just spins. Ugh!

            Thanks,

Got into the manager and turned off FURLS.
So in the manager if I select a page and preview it it works great but my client wants FURLS
and my navigation is hand coded for them. Any suggestions on how I can get them to work live???

              Thank you,

It should just be a matter of turning FURLS on in the Manager, renaming ht.access to .htaccess, and possibly correcting the rewrite base line in the .htaccess file.

I notice now that links on your homepage that are referenced like index.php?id=xyz work okay, but the others don’t

If you can go back and change all your hardcoding to the equivalent [~id~] reference, then when you turn FURLs on the aliases should show fine. (Assuming the correct values are set on the documents).

I can do that if I understood where to put this > [~id~]
Could you be more specific as to where I need to add this bit of code?

                    Thank you,

                      Anywhere you have a URL:

                      <a href="/someURL">Link Text</a>

                      becomes

                      <a href="[~12~]">Link Text</a>

Where 12 is the ID of the doc you want a link to (shown in parentheses next to the name in the resource tree at the left of the Manager).
