A simply designed portal for the Field Hockey Club.

    www.fieldhockeyclub.org

Probably my last EVO site: used DItto, Wayfinder, Vimeo,
jQuery, and the rest of MODx awesomeness!!

A little sparse on content as the owner has not enter a lot
of it due to the later start of its leagues and tournaments.

Your site is suffering from the .png curse, but meh. It isn’t really disturbing at all on this particular site. http://www.templateaccess.com/wpdemos/wp142/"" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">This is kind of a far fetched example, but if you view the page with Firefox you can see what I mean. I like your colour choices.

@jx3, thanks... what do you mean by the .png curse?
        can you elaborate more please?

I develop my site mainly for FireFox and it looks fine...
I went to the link that you included and it also looks fine.

This is how the site shows up in my Mac OS X 10.5.8 Firefox Browser (Version 3.6.8): http://imgur.com/K1lTm.png

Why are the header and the footer that big? Sure, the size of the header emphasizes the logo that sits in it, but should’nt it be all about the content? I can see the first heading and two lines of text on my 13" Macbook and then I already have to scroll so I can not identify what the site is about at first sight ("Team Pittsburgh? What sport is this about? In which league are they playing? Is this official or a fan site?"...)

Also take a look at the typography: You currently use many different fonts. The logo, the headings, the navigation/text, the FHCNA-navigation and after all the search box -> that 5 different fonts (too many). They are all very different in the emotion they create in the user. While the comic font used in the heading is very kid-like, the logo font conveys speed and activity. Pick one and create your designs accordingly.

          With best regards,
          Justus
