It is beautiful.
I can see some of the complexity. What other complex things are not visible? How large is the site? Is it built on MODx Evo or Revo? What sort of hosting are you using?
I expect you have some caching improvement opportunity, since the delay to visit the site a second time is comparable to the first-visit delay.
Thank you for sharing this work. Obrigado.
I looked just like that in 1964.
I’m sorry but due to the excessive use of javascript this page is so slow it’s unbearable. The design is nice though!
What’s the black box on the top? Banner Ads?
vampaz, beautiful site, not very slow for me...
the ADSL figures you mention for home connections are
fantastic... could you tell us just for reference
how much a customer pays at home for 10MB, 24MB and 100MB
of DSL service?

You will probably be better off to download all the js into a single file and run it through a compressor.
The amount of javascript used on your site is not as bad as I have seen, BUT the large number of external pulls really slows your pages down as most web browsers are linear, in that they will grab from the top down, and if there are any network issues at any point the page will hang.
The other consideration is that each external file that is loaded has its own latency, when added together into a lump sum this can be quite high.
Definitely optimize all your graphics -- my Cannon Raw files can be twelve megs originally, flickr can return me a decent presentation at 700k. I then use Adobe fireworks or other toys to turn it into a nice tiny file for a webpage - typically 25 -55k, which is a very long way from 12megs or 700k for that matter.
Last suggestion, switch your tabs near the bottom to cached ajax pulls to reduce the load on the initial startup.
Your site is beautiful.
